For my family shield I decided to draw 3 things: the first one
was of a moon and star and that represents lyla because lyla
means moonlight. The second thing I drew was the Kenyan flag
because my dad was born in Kenya. He also went to school there.
However in 1972 a man called Ide Amin who ruled Uganda forced
all the Asians to leave their country. Then later on he
threatened all the Kenyans to leave their country or he would
kill them all. So that's why my dad, his mum and dad and 3
sisters came to England. The final picture I drew was of the Sri
Lanka flag because that was where my mum's mum and dad came
from. My mum was born in England along with her younger sister
but her 2 older sisters and 1 older brother were born in Sri
Lanka. Unfortunately whilst my mum's mum and dad and 2 sisters
and brother were in Sri Lanka a huge riot started to happen. It
was between the Tamils and the Singhalese. So my mum's mum and
dad and her siblings decided the safest route would be to go to
England. I hope you now know a little more about my family
background.

Firstly the colours on my family crest show that we are Celtic
especially by the colour green which is the colour of Ireland.
Secondly, the shamrock also shows that we are Irish because the
shamrock is the national emblem of of Ireland. Also on the the
corners of my family crest there are small crosses which show
that we have a belief which is Christianity. Also on my crest
there are two harps. The harp were originally an Irish
instrument but it shows that my family enjoys music a lot.
My family Motto - Always believe in yourself and never give
up, but always smile and be positive.
