At St. Hilda’s we view music as an important part of our wide-ranging curriculum and believe that every child should be given the opportunity to explore their own musicality. To achieve this your child will experience a wide range of musical activities; learning to play a recorder, composing music, being a member of the school choir, performing at concerts throughout the year, being a member of the school orchestra and being part of the Lower School Christmas play and the Upper School end of year musical.
We offer your child the opportunity for individual tuition in a range of instruments, including piano, violin, guitar, clarinet, flute, saxophone and cello. If they show an interest in a particular instrument they will be prepared for their grade exams at the Associated Board and for music scholarships.
Musical excellence is celebrated at St. Hilda’s and a number of girls achieve music scholarships to senior schools.
