Extracurricular
At St. Hilda’s we have an excellent range of extra-curricular activities. Ballet and Tap lessons are available for your child from the age of four and our annual Ballet and Tap Concert is an absolute delight.
We offer your child the opportunity for individual tuition in a range of instruments, including piano, violin, guitar and cello. If they show an interest in a particular instrument they will be prepared for their grade exams at the Associated Board and for a music scholarship to the senior schools.
An after school drama club is available for all Form 4, 5 and year 6 girls and we encourage those members who join to organise lunchtime plays for the school community.
Girls in the Upper School have the opportunity to join a Netball Club in the winter and a Gymnastics Club in the summer and for those who want to expand their language skills, we have a Spanish Club.
The Form 6 girls, as a privilege, have access to the ICT suite every morning before school and can join an after school ICT club.
Every Friday the Upper School participates in an independent activities afternoon where different types of challenges are set and the mixed year group teams are encouraged to develop key competencies to solve them. These afternoons encourage, in your child, an opportunity to blossom and develop a wide ranging set of thinking skills and qualities enabling Senior School Headteachers, when interviewing, to always recognise a St. Hilda’s girl as an independent, confident individual.
