Charities
Here at St. Hilda's we support several charities throughout the year. Through these activities children become aware of the need around them, encouraging them and empowering them to take action, both as individuals and groups to help with such needs. To accept responsibility by making a personal commitment to an individual or group and to appreciate the value of service and to develop a sense of community.
In the autumn Term our Harvest Festival collection is given to the Watford New Hope Trust, a local charity for the homeless. We also hold fund raising events for the RNLI and other organisations both local and global. Collections are made for Poppy Day, MacMillan Nurses and Red Nose Day.
The Summer Term Charities will be Helen and Douglas House, and Help for Heroes.
A sponsored walk around our local park is one of the enjoyable highlights of the year.
