Miss Curry was the first headmistress of St Hilda's and a noted naturalist who kept beautifully illustrated diaries of the world around her. Each year in her memory we hold a competition with a nature based theme.

To fit in with our "Midsummer Night's Dream " production, our Miss Curry Competition this year will be to design a picture of a costume for a fairy (see right), using only natural materials.

All the work assembling the design for the competition will be done during an afternoon activity session, in school, towards the end of term.

The children from Kindergarten to Form 6 will be using materials they have collected at home such as:

  • pressed flowers and petals
  • leaves
  • feathers
  • dried grasses
  • seeds and seed pods
  • dried tree bark
