Today "The Living Willow House" was officially opened at a dedication ceremony attended by Mrs Fishman's family, Chairman of The Board of Governors, staff, parents and children. The ceremony consisted of an address by Mrs Cavanagh, memories from some of the children who have been taught by Mrs Fishman and a tribute in song sung by the whole school. The cutting of the ribbon and unveiling of the memorial plaque was performed by Mrs Fishman's daughter Kim and granddaughter Aura. Mr Fishman gave a speech thanking everyone for their support.
The children all enjoyed watching the house take shape from a bunch of twigs through to the finished construction. Now it is a wonderful leafy structure for the children to play in, and will serve as a permanent memorial to a much loved teacher.
